F Series Card Feeder

F Series card and board feeder

Take repetitive card feeding out of your production line.

When an operator is standing at the end of a flow wrapper continuously placing base cards by hand, the F Series can automate the job.

Designed specifically for the food industry, the F Series automatically separates and feeds individual cards accurately and consistently, freeing operators for more productive tasks and reducing your reliance on manual labour.

Available for flat base cards, or for automatically feeding and folding pre-scored L, C and U cards.

One repetitive job. Automated.

What is manual card feeding costing you?

For many applications, the question is no longer simply what the machine costs. It is what continuing to feed cards by hand is costing you every year:

1 operator × hourly employment cost × hours per shift × shifts per day × working days

Run that calculation with your own numbers and the F Series stops looking like a capital purchase and starts looking like an ongoing saving for every shift the machine operates.

Why automate card feeding?

Feed every card consistently.

Manually feeding thousands of cards every shift is repetitive, labour intensive work. The F Series takes over that task continuously, allowing operators to be redeployed elsewhere on the line.

Manual feeding also depends on an operator maintaining the correct position and timing throughout the shift. The F Series automatically separates one card from the stack and presents it consistently to the production line, helping maintain a steady process and reducing the potential for missed or incorrectly positioned cards.

From small independent food producers to high volume automated lines, the principle is the same. One card. In the right place. At the right time.

Every operator adjustment point is anodised red. If it is red, you can adjust it, without tools.

Your products change. Your card feeder needs to change with them.

Production rarely stays the same forever. New customers, new products and new packaging formats can all mean different card dimensions and different production requirements.

The F Series has been designed around fast, simple changeover. Tool-less adjustment and just three principal operator settings allow repeatable format changes to be made in minutes. The adjustment points are clearly identified, making setup straightforward for production operators without complicated engineering intervention.

Less time setting. More time producing.

Flat cards today. Folded cards tomorrow.

The standard F Series feeds individual flat base cards directly into your production process.

Add our Flowfold system and the same F Series platform can also feed pre-scored cards and automatically form L, C or U profiles before presenting them for product loading.

This gives food manufacturers greater freedom to change packaging formats without automatically changing the complete feeding system.

Dusty, fibrous cards shouldn’t stop the line.

Recycled and fibrous cards can shed dust as they feed. Left alone, that dust coats the feeding belts, the grip fades and feeding becomes unreliable, usually in the middle of a shift.

For these applications the F Series has an optional vacuum and air knife system. The vacuum pulls each card firmly onto the feed belts, adding drive exactly where dusty cards need it, while an air knife, supplied through a 0.01 micron filter, continuously blows the dust off the carriage belts before it can build up.

The dust is managed continuously, so the feeder keeps its grip and the line keeps running.

Built to work with your production line.

The F Series can operate as a standalone card feeder or be fully integrated with flow wrappers, robotic loading systems and other packaging machinery. Speed following, external triggering and line control options allow the feeder to work as part of the complete production process rather than as an isolated machine.

PiP also works with packaging machinery OEMs to integrate our feeding systems directly into new production lines. Whether you are automating an existing manual process or developing a completely new line, we can design the F Series around the application.

Maintenance shouldn’t mean hours of lost production.

Every production machine eventually needs servicing. The F Series was designed to make routine maintenance simple and fast.

The feeder carriage can be removed quickly, giving easy access to the feeding belts and rollers. Belt assemblies can be exchanged without dismantling large sections of the machine, allowing production to restart quickly while the removed assembly is serviced separately.

The tilting magazine and accessible drive system also make inspection, cleaning and routine maintenance straightforward. Because reducing downtime matters just as much as reducing labour.

Designed for food production.

At its heart the F Series is a friction feeder developed specifically for the food industry, with stainless steel construction and food-grade feeding belts.

Simple operator controls, recipe-based settings and clearly identified adjustment points help make operation repeatable across different products, operators and shifts. Behind that simplicity is a machine designed to be configured around the individual application.

Quick answers

Will the F Series feed my cards reliably?

Material, thickness, coating, print finish, static, size and how the cards are cut can all affect automated feeding. Rather than guessing, we test your actual production cards on our equipment and determine the best feeding arrangement before anything is specified.

What happens when we change card size?

Changeover is tool-less, with just three principal operator settings, all clearly identified in red. Repeatable format changes can be made in minutes by production operators, without engineering intervention.

Can it feed L, C and U cards as well as flat cards?

Yes. The standard F Series feeds flat base cards, and with our Flowfold system the same platform feeds pre-scored cards and automatically forms L, C or U profiles before presenting them for product loading.

Will it integrate with my flow wrapper or robot loading?

Yes. The F Series operates standalone or fully integrated, with speed following, external triggering and line control options, and we work directly with packaging machinery OEMs on new lines.

Is it difficult to maintain?

No. The feeder carriage removes quickly for access to belts and rollers, belt assemblies exchange without dismantling the machine, and the tilting magazine makes inspection and cleaning straightforward.

What if my cards are unusual?

Send us samples. We test your actual production cards on our equipment and tell you honestly what will work, and how best to feed them.

Send us your cards. We’ll test them.

Every card is different. Tell us what you are feeding, how fast you need to feed it and what happens immediately before and after the feeder. We’ll take it from there.
