Lidding machines

Two ways to take lidding off your line.

A lidding machine, or lidder, automatically separates lids from a stack and places them onto filled pots, tubs or trays, with compression applied where required. Placing and pressing lids by hand is repetitive, inconsistent at speed and a poor use of operators. We build two families of press-fit lidding machines, each answering a different production problem, so the machine is chosen around the lid and the line.

Choose by problem, not by brochure.

RL Series

Compact, high-speed automatic press-fit lidding, up to approximately 80 products per minute, with the complete process controlled on the machine’s own conveyor.

AL Series and ALS Series

Intermittent lidding where deeper lids, greater magazine capacity or more controlled placement make an A or AS based machine preferable.

Which lidder do I need?

The RL Series is the compact inline choice for stackable lids at speed, controlling the incoming product, placing the lid and pressing it home in one machine. The AL and ALS Series are the choice when lids are deeper or when magazine capacity across multiple lanes matters more than footprint, with the ALS adding servo-shaped motion that picks quickly and slows to place and press each lid with control.

Both families use our factory-set quick-change masks, so lid format changes take minutes, and both are built in stainless steel with washdown available.

Quick answers

Which lidding machine do I need?

For stackable press-fit lids at speed in a compact inline footprint, the RL Series. Where lids are deeper, magazine capacity matters more than footprint, or the application needs controlled intermittent placement, the AL or ALS Series.

Can PiP machines lid card packaging?

Yes. One existing RL installation places card lids onto card tubs, then changes over in minutes to run plastic tubs and lids on the same machine.

Why choose an intermittent lidder over a rotary one?

Magazine capacity and lid depth. The A Series architecture allows several magazines across the machine, so more lids are loaded at once and operators replenish less often, and the intermittent motion reaches deeper lids than a rotary machine.

Send us your container and lid.

We will determine the most appropriate lidding method and prove it before you commit.
